History
Battalion 44, located on Watkins street in Brooklyn, was doing
so many runs that a second section, Battalion 44-2 had been established.
- On December 12, 1969, Battalion 44-2 was redesignated as Battalion
58 and quartered at Engine 231 located at 107-09 Watkins St,
Brooklyn NY.
- On March 10, 1970, Battalion 58 was given its own administrative
district.
- On January, 1, 1971, Battalion 58 was relocated to the quarters
of E 310 and Ladder 174 at 5105 Snyder Avenue in Brooklyn.
- On December 14, 1995, Battalion 58 was relocated to the quarters
of Engine 257 and Ladder 170 at 1361 Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn.
- The 58 Battalion, located in the 15th division, is responsible
for the supervision of six fire companies, as follows:.
- E 257, E 283, E310, E 323, L 170 and L17
