Answer:

Original UL 2035 Standard :
Call the Fire Department any time the alarm sounds.
Revised UL 2034 Standard:
If no symptoms are evident, then ventilate the interior, shut down fuel burning appliances and have them checked by qualified technician.
If symptoms develop, leave the building and call the fire department.


2. If you are called to a home for a reported odor of smoke, what might you inadvertently do to interfere with your ability to detect the odor?
Answer:
You can inadvertently cause the odor to dissipate by venting the area by repeatedly opening the door and allowing countless firefighters into the building. Sometimes the smell from your smoky gear can prevent you from smelling the reported odor.


3. A transformer consists of a series of wires wrapped around a metal core that is sitting in oil used for cooling purposes. What hazards may this oil present?
Answer:
The oil may be flammable and may contain PCB's


4. Oil burners have several safety devices and the stack switch is one of them. What does it do?
Answer:
It is located in the flue. If it senses heat, it will shut down the ignition sequence and start the running sequence. If it doesn't sense heat, it will cycle on the ignition sequence.



5. Why did utility companies place a protective screen on their high-pressure gas vents?
Answer:
Because, a particular type of wasp was fond of setting up house in gas vent pipes.
